Copiague Library To Reopen After Renovations

COPIAGUE, NY — Residents of Copiague and the surrounding area will soon be able to enjoy a newly improved library.

The Copiague Memorial Public Library announced this week it will reopen for regular hours Monday after about a month of renovations.

Ken Miller, director of the library, told Patch that new updates included replacing the carpet in the adult room, the flooring with new vinyl tiles in the lobby, and all the lighting with energy efficient LED bulbs.

The library also now has a larger maker space, or area where one can use and learn how to operate machines like 3-D printers, a sewing machine, and a Cricut, where one can make prints on t-shirts, mugs, and more.

More updates, such as a new circulation desk and a meeting room, will also come in the near future.

Miller said that the renovations will hopefully make the library a more inviting space for people to gather.

"I think that the library will look a lot brighter," he said. "It'll be more of a welcoming place."
