The holiday weekend is so close we can taste it. Are you enjoying the final (ish) weekend of summer on the beach, or will you be holed up on the couch catching up on shows you missed over the last few months? If you’re planning to stay in, your weekend plans just got a whole lot busier. Your favorite platforms are dishing out some amazing new content this weekend, and on Saturday, each is adding a massive batch of new shows and movies to its library. Don't you just love when the first of the month hits on a weekend?

Are you ready to dive back into Byrde family's criminal enterprise? Ozark Season 2 hits Netflix today, and Season 2 is every bit as action-packed in the first. The new installment follows Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) as they fight to create a casino on the lake, but things quickly get complicated as everyone learns about the money-making scheme. Interested in something a little less dark, both literally and figuratively? Netflix has dozens of new movies hitting their platform on Saturday, including Groundhog Day, Spider-Man 3, and The Breakfast Club.

Over on Prime Video, don't miss the premiere of Jack Ryan, the political thriller starring John Krasinski. The Office veteran is the fifth man to take on the mantle of Jack Ryan, and he does it with guts, brains, and some seriously tight shirts. Looking for something more family friendly? The animated hit Ferdinand hits HBO on Saturday night, and it's sure to warm even the coldest heart.

The Byrdes are back, baby! Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off: in the middle of some serious tension between Marty and Wendy Byrde, the Snells, and the cartel. When Marty and Wendy suggest opening a casino to launder the cartel's money through, everyone is elated — until they realize that the Byrdes will have to fight tooth and nail to make it a reality. Their quest introduces them to a few new characters and reunites them with some old friends, all of whom have the potential to take down the precarious enterprise with a single phone call. The stakes are high in Ozark Season 2, so don't miss a single second of this Emmy-nominated crime drama.

How does John Krasinski stack up to the Jack Ryans who have come before him? Pretty damn well, it turns out. The Prime Video series follows Ryan, an up-and-coming CIA analyst, as he's thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. Ever the pencil-pusher, Ryan discovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a life-threatening but potentially world-saving mission. With great supporting performances from Wendell Pierce, Abbie Cornish, Ali Suliman, and more, Jack Ryan isa welcome addition to the franchise.

Why simply tell children that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover when you can get the same message across in an animated movie? When Ferdinand, a caring, happy-go-lucky bull, is mistaken for a dangerous beast because of his size, he's captured and taken to a bullfighting ranch. There, Ferdinand convinces the other animals that the only way to survive is to escape, and he encourages the rag-tag group to stand up for their freedom. But can Ferdinand really achieve independence by staying non-violent? You probably already know the answer, but watch this family-friendly flick to find out for sure.
