Car fails to stop after crash with fence on Kenyon Lane in Croft

A CLUE was left at the scene of a fail-to-stop crash – but police have so far been unable to identify the car.

A white Mercedes A Class reportedly smashed into a garden fence outside a house on Kenyon Lane in Croft on Friday morning.

Intriguingly, although the car made off from the scene, half of a number plate showing the last three letters ‘HSN’ was left.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At around 11am on Friday, May 12, police were made aware of a damage-only collision on Kenyon Lane, Croft.

"The caller reported that a white Mercedes A Class had collided with a garden fence and driven off from the scene.

"The incident occurred at around 11pm on Thursday, May 11.

"Police have reviewed CCTV footage and checked the national database, but so far have been unable to identify the vehicle involved based on the available footage or the piece of a number plate which was left at the scene."
