I’m a DIY whizz

IF you want to jazz up your home on a tight budget, a DIY whizz has three tips to achieve the posh look without spending all your hard-earned cash.

Home decor fan Farwa has revealed the three ways you can use paint to turn your interior from drab to decadent in just a few hours.

Thanks to the cost of living crisis, none of us have cash to spare on fab new furniture or snazzy ornaments - let alone a pricey extension.

But don't worry, Farwa has posted a video to make your home the envy of the neighbourhood and you barely have to spend a penny.

Farwa begins the clip with an open tin of paint in a spring-like mint green shade.

She titles the video: "Three paint jobs to make your house look expensive."

The decorator dips a clean paint brush into the tin and moves onto her advice.

First, she suggests painting your radiators the same colour as your walls.

The matching hues hide the radiators, giving the room a more flush and fabulous appearance.

Farwa shows off her own example: a deep grey bathroom wall with matching paint on the radiator, featuring a gold brushed circular mirror and gold-brushed towel rack to an extra bit of class.

Next, she suggests plucky painters should put a lick or two on the ceiling to avoid the boring white shade we all have in our homes.

She explains by sharing a clip of her child's nursery.

The room features wooden furniture and fox-themed wallpaper with neutral tones throughout.

There's a soft green curtain draped over the cot like a canopy, which matches the shade of the painted ceiling.

Then Farwa gives another example for those without children.

She moves to another bathroom featuring fresh white wall tiles, deep-coloured jungle-themed wallpaper and another gold-brushed accent mirror.

Farwa shows off a gold painted picture rail separating the wallpaper from the rich ceiling paint above.

But that's not all. Finally, her third tip is to paint your woodwork.

That's right - don't leave your skirting boards in their dull white shade - have a bit of fun and extend colour throughout the room.

She reveals an example of her own hallway.

The scandi-style aesthetic shows off a feature wall painted half white (at the top) and half pastel pink (at the bottom).

The skirting board has been painted in the same pink hue, complementing the biscuit-coloured stair carpet and quirky circular hooks above.
